This was drawn for my brother's birthday card. The birthday's not for another two days so shhhh!
The text reads 'OH HAI, I GOT YOU THIS CAKE ... BUT I EATED IT'.
This was drawn on a tablet PC using three pre-set fixed opacity, variable size brushes for the line art and the airbrush tool for the colours. Total time spent 4.5 hours of which one hour was the line art. The original source image did not include the cake or quite the same post. The card was drawn at print resolution (full size image is 3000px wide) so it could be sent via Moonpig. Lettering was added in Inkscape.
This is intended to be drawn in a slightly cartoony/stylized style with varying line widths. I'm intending to use this style to draw comics from now on.
Disclaimer: I do not own Red Dwarf or The Cat, this is purely intended as fan art and should be used for non-commercial purposes only.

To help support the Literature community we hold regular contests. It is an opportunity for you to get involved and gain some exposure. Contest winners will be featured in a news article and a journal entry--as well as other fabulous prizes. Please read this article for more information on how you can participate!
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
